Description
One of many prints on the coalition ministry of Fox and North against the Earl of Shelburne (William Petty, Marquis of Lansdowne) over the conclusion of peace with France and Spain with America which had provisionally been signed in Paris on 13 Nov 1782. The presence of the banner on the floor declaring 'Britania rescue'd from the wicked designs of an artfull' refers to the alleged speculative activities of Shelburne during the peace negotiations
