Description

Photograph of two ivory fertility amulets from the Belgian Congo (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo). One was purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 924 and accessioned in 1931 (accession number R45785). It was removed from the Museum's holdings in 1966. The other was purchased at auction as part of a set of four in 1920 and given accession number A22502. It is not held by Wellcome Collection.
