About this work

Description

Two black and white photographs of a man who had a very large cystic goitre. The tumour had existed between 50 and 60 years, but during the last ten years it had greatly increased in size, causing dyspnoea and dysphagia. The trachea was much displaced to the left. The superficial veins were dilated. Patient seen at Wölperswyl, Canton Fribourg, Switzerland, in August 1886.
