Photograph of the proprietor of a house in Castelmola, Sicily, where ex-voto (votive offerings to saints or divinities) were obtained, taken in 1929. Received by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum from Captain Johnston-Saint on 28 June 1929. Captain Johnston-Saint was a Wellcome Historical Medical Museum employee who travelled extensively in Europe, the Middle East and India purchasing items for the museum.
