Description

Einar Holbøll was a Danish postmaster. One of his assistants originated the idea of special stamp issues for charitable purposes: he implemented it in 1904 with his Christmas stamp (Julemaerket) for a tuberculosis prevention fund, and thus initiated a worldwide movement
