Ownership note

These letters were found inside books from the library of the Galton Laboratory when the collection was catalogued in 2013. This library is primarily formed of the Galton Bequest books, which are a collection of approximately seven hundred volumes formerly housed in the Galton Laboratory but now transferred to UCL Special Collections. The letters in this series are additional to the letters previously found inside Galton Laboratory books, which were identified when the Galton Papers were originally listed (see GALTON/3/1/1).
