The original was in German. It was published with the author's Von geschossenen Wunden, and his Neues Feld-Artzneibuch. The later enlarged Latin version appeared in 1633 under title: Cista militaris.
"A description of a lancet, for the more secure letting of blood, by Dr. Lower" (p. 1-6) is translated from his De corde, 3d ed., Amsterdam, 1671, p. 166-169.
