The standing figure bears some resemblance to the standing woman in the print of two women (one standing, one reclining) by Jacques-Fabien Gautier d'Agoty published in his Anatomie des parties de la génération de l'homme et de la femme ... jointe a l'angéologie de tout le corps humain, e a ce qui concerne la grossesse et les accouchemens, Paris: J.B. Brunet & Demonville, 1773, third folding plate (numbered "Plan. V" in the top half and "Plan. VI" in the bottom half), inscribed "La femme sur la fin de sa grossesse et la femme en travail disséquées mortes en cet état, et gravées en couleur par G. Dagoty pere anatomiste pensioné du Roi 1773. On a donné à ces figures un air de vie pour oter un aspect plus désagréable". There are some variations, however: in the painting the arms are raised, in the print they are not
