Photomacrograph of a single floret of broccoli. Broccoli is an edible green vegetable in the plant genus Brassica which also includes cabbage, cauliflower and kale. Broccoli is a good source of vitamin C and folate (folic acid) and also contains vitamins A, K, and some B vitamins, calcium, fibre, beta-carotene and other antioxidants. Researchers are investigating whether eating cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli can reduce a person's risk of developing cancer. Width of image is 22 mm.
