About this work
Description
The second episode focuses on the consequences of Amelia's confession to her uncle that she witnessed the murder. Relationships between the characters become increasingly strained. Unfortunately, in identifying one of the perpetrators, she leads her uncle to realise that there is a conspiracy in the drugs squad. Her uncle is professionally compromised by shielding Amelia. As a deaf child Amelia has been protected by her parents and she increasingly enjoys the company of her teenage cousins who we later understand are a-typical - they smoke, drink and take drugs. The scientific story is fundamental to the story line whilst at the same time not dominating the script or moving the drama into the realms of worthy'.
