    A.D. 1858, lUh May. N° 1087. > Cushions for Trusses, &e. (This Invention received Provisional Protection, but notice to proceed with the application for Letters Patent was not given within the time prescribed by the Act.) PROVISIONAL SPECIFICATION left by David Dick at the Office of the Commissioners of Patents, with his Petition, on the 14th May 1858. I, David Dick, Engineer, residing at 55, George Street, Paisley, in the County of Renfrew, do hereby declare the nature of the said Invention for 5 “ Improved Cushions for Trusses and other similar uses,” to be as follows, and consists in substituting a small bag of caoutchouc or other suitable material, filled with air, in lieu of mocmain or any of the materials now in use. By this means, when applied to a truss or other like purpose, the cushion can receive any required pressure and still accommodate itself accurately to the 10 body.
