An episode in the picaresque novel Gil Blas by A. Le Sage. In chapter 2, Gil Blas arives at Peñaflor and is deceived by the flattery of a trickster into buying and sharing with him an expensive meal of eggs, trout and wine. In the present print, the trickster (wearing a feathered hat) and Gil Blas (left) eat fried eggs while the innkeeper places wine on the table and his wife prepares to cook the trout
