Biographical note

Lady Rhys Williams DBE (1898-1964) was one of the founders of the National Birthday Trust Fund. She was politically active, first as a member of the Liberal part and then in the Conservative Party. She was also a governor of the BBC from 1952-1956. She also wrote articles and books on politics, economics, philosophy and religion and had novels and plays published
