    and the Funds of the Charity in their accustomed propor¬ tions, Leicestershire T7o, Rutland /o, and the Charity XV The Buildings formerly occupied as Wash-house and Laundry, have been devoted by the Visitors to other pur¬ poses, such as Work-rooms for the Male and Female Patients, Storekeeper’s Office and Residence; these alter¬ ations which have received the sanction of the Commissioners in Lunacy, are at present only partially carried out; a further Grant has, however, been made for that purpose by the County of Leicester, and it is fully expected that the County of Rutland, and the Subscribers to the Charity will readily contribute their respective proportions. These further alterations, although not of an extensive character, are essential to the well-being of the Institution ; indeed, the Visitors are compelled to avail themselves of every means of accommodating the Patients, the increase of whom, especially in the County of Leicester, has presented a marked feature in the occurrences of the past year. The increase in the County Patients has been greater, both in number and proportion, than that of the Borough, an unusual * occurrence, and one which will require attention, when the Report of the Clerk of the Peace, as to the Insane Paupers, within the County and Borough of Leicester, is laid before the next Easter Sessions.
