About this work

Description

The Hospital for Women, which had been founded at Red Lion Square in April 1843, moved in to 30 Soho Square in 1852. The hospital later extended into the house next door, 29 Soho Square, and Frith Street. The hospital was refaced in 1909-10 by Adams Holden and Pearson. The functions of the hospital were subsequently transferred to the Elizabeth Garret Anderson Hospital and by 1997 this building was derelict. Part of it was later occupied by Soho Square General Practice
