There have been times, Avhen, wearied and Avorn Avith the cares of the Avorld, I have thought that I should never com- plete the spinning of the various threads of Avhich this Avork is composed; but, He Avho, Avhen I Avas an hour old, preserved me from the flames Avhich consumed the bed u])on Avhich I Avas born, has helped me through it; and my ambition is gratified. I have completed my task of heralding The NeAv Nation, and, Avhether it turns out great or small, I knoAv that I shall be considered its founder. Asa monetary matter I need scarcely say that no sale a book like this is likely to have, Avill bring to me the actual money already disbursed upon it, to say nothing of my time ; but mine has been a labour of love, and the pleasure of making things clear, Avhich have long been otherwise, amply repays me. I purpose noAv to take such rest as I feel that I need, and j)er- sonally shall not be disappointed if the Avorld takes some time to Avake up to the importance of this matter ; if, however, it should do so in time to avail itself of many other matters I haA'e studied out, but of Avhich it Avould now be premature to speak, I could do much more, and could, for their sake and for the sake of all humanity, direct its action by the symmetrical lines that haA'e often guided me ; therefore, if God sees fit, I Avill do so to the best of my ability, and, as I believe that I could direct the yet unaAvakened intellect of The NeAv Nation, better than any Avho has not studied these things for years, from the ])oint of view from which I have observed them, I Avould, after a rest, devote myself to that task ; but, for reasons Avhich Avill readily occur to reflecting minds, Avhatcver is done should be done soon. To give the matter, therefore, a practical form, I Avill undertake the j)rcHminary duty of personally inspecting, at my home, those Avho first inform me that they have the mark, duly registering those Avho have it; and Avill assist those avIio volunteer to set going the machinery necessary for registering throughout the globe all those Avho have it also ; but on the
