About this work
Gelatinous transformation of the bone marrow This is a medium power view of vertebral bone marrow with gelatinous transformation in AIDS. It is from a patient who died of extreme wasting (cachexia). The bony trabeculae are present but there is virtually no remaining haemopoietic tissue. This condition is also known as serous atrophy of the bone marrow.
