About this work

Description

Transmission electron micrograph showing an intercellular junction between two endothelial cells from a capillary in the corneal stroma. The large dark mass at the top of the field is a red blood cell in the lumen of the capillary. The left hand cell shows a large nucleus, mitochondria and pinocytic vesicles. The nucleus in the right hand cell is out of the field of view. A basement membrane underlies the two cells. The field of view is approxmately 5 microns in diameter.
