Description

Material relating to William Brockedon and his patent for the manufacture of compressed pills. In particular, the claims by Thomas Kerfoot & Co to be the first company to manufacture comrepssed tablets in the UK.

Also including: entry on William Brockendon from the Dictionary of National Biography, copies of advertisements, and photographs of entries in trade directories. Also included are three sheets of Wellcome Foundation labels for Brockedon pills.

Material appears to have been collated by E. F. Linstead, possibly for his history of Burroughs Wellcome & Co.
