The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Members of the popular touring Denville Stock Company in a production shot for ‘The Man from Toronto’, a popular comedy in three acts first performed in 1919. The ‘Dame’ character played by unidentified character second from right. [A] high quality commercially produced publicity postcard. The postcard as a means of advertising theatre productions had been well exploited since the early days of postcard publishing in the 1900s."
