    iCanara district, each of which, is headed by a Medical Office! of Health, who is responsible for all public health work in his division including Malaria control. Simultaneously sanction was accorded to, the inclusion in the spraying programme of ail small sized malarious villages with population of less than 100 which had been omitted upto now. Similar proposals were under consideration for adoption in Dharwar District also for 1951-52. However in 1950-51 work in Dharwar district was also organised with two divisions, each incharge of Medical Officer, at Dharwar and Haveri. With these arrangements the periodical shifting of two units of Ranibennur and Haveri in Dharwar district to Honavar and Siddapur in Kanara district is obviated. Many villages of Kundgol, Lakshmeshwar and other talukas recently merged into Dharwar district were included in the spraying programme. The total number of villages and their populations actually included in the scheme at the close of 1950 were No. of Villages. Total population (1941 census). There was no change in dosages, frequency or technique of spraying. Owing to breakdown of Aromex supplied from Assam due to earthquake, D. D.
