    I boldly proceed; and, under the aufpices of Heaven, doubt not of fome fuccefs. The bufinefs of the following remarks, therefore, is to point out a principle hi- therto neglected, but of the utmoft impor- tance, in the treatment of every morbid affection of the Lungs ; and from which arifes a new pathology of all the pulmonary difeafes, founded on the beft of all poffible bafes, the anatomy and phyfiology of the parts.
