Comprises text and plates from different titles, that is: Descriptions of first two plates (without the plates) from: Anatomie générale des viscères en situation, de grandeur et couleur naturelle, avec l'angéologie et la névrologie de chaque partie du corps humain, Paris 1752. First nine plates and accompanying descriptions from: Essai d'anatomie en tableaux imprimés, qui répresentent au naturel tous les muscles de la face, du col, de la tête, de la langue et du larinx, Paris 1745. Text and plates from: Anatomie de la tête en tableaux imprimés, Paris 1748.
All descriptions are preceded by a translation of the text into English.
Plates have lettering: 'Démontrée par M. Duverney. Peinte et gravée [en couleur] par J. Gautier.' 4th plate in 1st series, and 5th to 8th plates in 2nd series have lettering: 'Démontrée par Mr. Tarin, peinte et gravée par J. Gautier.'
