Description

Confocal microscopy of auto-fluorescent Chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is a green pigment found in almost all plants, algae and cyanbacteria. Chlorophyll has an essential role during photosynthesis, where plants produce energy from light. Chlorophyll is stored in a small compartments (organelles) within plant cells, known as chloroplasts. This image was produced using a Leica SP5 confocal microscope. Objectives: 40x oil immersion.
