1918-1920 influenza pandemic escape community digital document archive [electronic resource]

Description

A digital document archive reflecting the experiences of seven provisional influenza escape communities in the United States that reported relatively few cases of influenza during the 1918-1920 Spanish flu pandemic. Each community has an individual page providing an abbreviated version of the corresponding case study, plus a listing of research materials consulted. Sources include newspapers, journals and other documents and have their own table detailing the contents which have been digitized and available for viewing or download. The archive has been made available by the Center for the History of Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School as part of a project conducted for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).
