Assistant Physician to the Norwegian Hospital; Visiting Physician to the Tuberculosis Clinic, Bay Ridge Hospital; Ordinary Examiner for the Prudential In- surance Company, etc. A few months ago a young married woman was suddenly seized with convul- sions consequent upon her pregnant con- dition. Her family physician was sent for and after she had a series of convulsions the family decided to call in another physi- cian in the neighborhood. The second physician seeing at once the gravity of the situation, advised heroic measures, but also asked the first physician what he had done in the case. The reply was; “Well, doc- tor, I have been treating her expectantly.” “Well,” said the other physician, “you know what to expect, do you not?” And, sad to relate, what they expected occurred.
