    shall sec fit, any medical person,) appear to be proper, until such person can be safely and securely conveyed to some place ap- pointed for the performance of quarantine, or until directions can be obtained from the privy council, as to the disposal of any such person, and to make any further order or grant any further war- rant that may be necessary in that behalf. XXV. And whereas orders have been given by the lords of0rden • ,._-.. . ° ' council for his Majesty s privy council for persons on shore, who had inter- ending aflor . , to perform course with the crew and passengers of a vessel cominsr from aiuarantine . c , . . ° persons who place trom whence it was judged that there was danger of in- h*i had inter \ fection being brought, to be sent afloat for the performance of vessel tv^m which danger quarantine, in like manner with such crew and passengers ; be or injection ■ rp, . was appre- it enacted, 1 hat such orders so issued as aforesaid by the lords bended, to be r, . _, ... . valid, and the- oi his Majesty s privy council for the prevention of infection, advisers, &e. shall be taken and considered to have been, and are hereby de- clared to be good and valid in law; and all persons who may have been concerned in advising, issuing, or carrying into exe- cution the said orders or any of them, shall be and are hereby in- demnified for the same, and shall be and are hereby freed and discharged from all actions, suits, or other proceedings, which have been or shall be brought and commenced against them, for or on account or by reason of the said orders, or any of them, or of any other matter or thing done in pursuance thereof. XXVI. And be it further enacted, That if any officer of his Penalty on persons em- Majesty's customs, or any other officer or person whatsoever to bezziing whom it doth or shall appertain to execute any order or orders Jorming qua- . . rantine, neg- made or to be made concerning quarantine, or the prevention ofiectingorde infection, and notified as aforesaid, or to see the same put in ex- duty, or per- ecution, shall knowingly and wilfully embezzle any goods or ar-sons, slips, tides performing quarantine, or be guilty of any other wilful without au- breach or neglect of his duty in respect to the ships, persons, giving false ^oods or articles performing quarantine, every such officer andordamaging person so offending shall forfeit such office or employment as he may be possessed of, and shall become from thenceforth incapa- ble to hold or enjoy the same, or to take a new grant thereof;— and every such officer and person shall forfeit and pay the sum of one hundred pounds ; and if any such officer and person shall desert from his duty when employed as aforesaid, or shall know- ingly and wilfully permit any person, ship, vessel, goods, or mer- chandise, to depart or be conveyed out of the said lazaret, ship, or other place as aforesaid, unless by permission under an order of his Majesty, by and with the advice of his privy council, or under an order of three or more of *hc lords or others of his
