Phillips and Pembrey ; and in 1901, Drs. Bolton and Pembrey, though not other- wi.se connected with the Hospital or the School, were licensed to ptuform experiments at the .Medical School. The Rritish Medical Journal of the 25th of May, 1901, states that in the (.'barter of this Hospital the Medical School is specifically doscrihed as “ a part of the said Hospital.” If this be so, it is clear that a portion of every subscription given to this Hospital is certainly destined to be used iu support of a place wherein animals arc vivisected, unless the fees paid by tiu! students suffice for the entire support of the School, which is clearly not the case, and it would be better if the School is ‘‘ a part of the Hospital ” that its accounts should be published, for if the Rritish Medical Journal's statement that’' ” the Hospital receives from the School one-fifth of the gross amount of fees paid by the students ” is correct, it must be deduced from the last Hospital report that £1,869 Os. 8d. was paid by the students into the joint institution of the expenditure of which no account is published. The returns for 1901 are the last available. • British Medical Journal, May 36th, 1901.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b22474158_0010.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
