Pneumonia: adenovirus

This is a plain chest x-ray from a 6-year-old girl who had severe pneumonia for four months. Adenovirus was suspected. There is loss of volume of the right hemithorax, with areas of collapse in the middle and lower lobes, and hypovascularity of the right upper lobe (seen as a very dark area in x-rays). Note that the mediastinum is displaced to the right side.
