Description
The normal flora on the teeth includes
Streptococcus mutans which causes tooth decay.
Treatment with chlorhexidene will kill all the
flora. After chlorhexidene the oral bacteria
recolonize except for Stretococcus mutans
which is specifically inhibited by the antibody
(Y-shaped molecule). After antibody treatment the
space originally occupied by Streptococcus
mutans is filled by other oral bacteria.
