Creator/production credits

Authorship currently untraced. Possibly by someone in the circle of August Kappler (1815-1887): he was in Paramaribo in 1845 (according to his Holländisch-Guiana; Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen während eines 34 jährigen Aufenthalts in der Kolonie Surinam, Stuttgart 1881, pp. 71, 72, 74). Howgego's statement that Kappler arrived in Surinam in March 1846 seems to be incorrect (R.J. Howgego, Encyclopedia of exploration, 1800 to 1850, Sydney 2004, p. 534). Other naturalists in Surinam are listed in P. Sagot, 'Catalogue des plantes phanérogames et cryptogames vasculaires de la Guyane Française', Annales des sciences naturelles ... botanique, ser. 6, 1990, vol. 10, p. 373-375. They include "Le docteur Hostmann" who appears in Kappler's memoirs as "Dr H."
