Correspondence concerning the incidence of peptic ulcer in various occupations and the influence of heredity, sex and age, and regarding the publication of a paper entitled "The Separate Inheritance of Gastric and Duodenal Ulcers". Further correspondence on chemical mutagens, breast cancer, tuberculosis, and Down's syndrome.

Includes a letter from Mary P Newton of the Ministry of Health dated 1 March 1963 regarding an investigation into the use of thalidomide. Encloses the results of a "Thalidomide survey" which analysed the association between the use of thalidomide during pregnancy and instances of limb deformities observed in newborns.
