Will Barnet (b. Beverly, Mass., in 1911) taught graphic arts at the Art Students' League 1936-1941 and at the New School for Social Research, New York City, 1941-1943. The lithograph may have been printed by him from a design drawn by one of his students who had witnessed such an operation at Bellevue, or had seen a photograph of the operation
