The phyficians, furgeons, and apothecaries, attend in their own perfons, and no pupil, apprentice, or fervent, is at any time admitted into the wards. V. Of the Matron. ]. She refides condantly in the houfe, and dire&s the ceconomy thereof. 2. She is fully inftrudted in the rules and orders of the houfe j obferves them ftridtly, and makes report to the committee of whatever die thinks will be moft for the benefit of the charity. а. She receives inftrudtions from the committee, in what manner to govern and regulate the domeftic affairs. 4. She fees that all the women are neat and decent in their cloaths and perfons, and properly employed, and difcharge their duty ; and that they conflantly attend divine fervice. She receives from the fteward the materials for their work, and delivers the work back to him, and fees that he makes a regular entry and account thereof. 5. She takes care of all the houfhold linen, and what belongs to the cloathing, fo that the Jleward may keep an account thereof. б. She requires, of the fteward, fuch provifions as are necefiary for the houfe, and fuffers none to be carried away, nor any wafte to be made. 7.
