    “ought firft of all to acquaint themfelves well and perfectly in the true Grounds and Rudiments thereof. ‘To which End ait is firft to be underftood, that the -Circle of the Zodiack is divided in- to twelve equal Parts, called Signs ; and the Reafon they are called fo, becaufe they fignify to Mankind the smoft remarkable Alterations of the Air and the other Elements Thefe Signs are again divided into thirty equal Parts, called Degrees, into 60 Parts, called Minutes, and every Minute into 60 Se- conds, €fc. So that in the Compafs of the Zodiack is contained 12 Signs, or 360 Degrees, 21600 Minutes, or 1296000 Seconds.
