Notes

The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "A ‘Charley’s Aunt’ outfit has been hastily improvised from a printed bedcoverand a few hand props. This popular figure created by the actor W.S. Penley in 1892 in the farce by Brandon Thomas of the same name had a plot which involved a young undergraduate masquerading as an elderly Victorian lady, and was always played wearing the distinctive black bonnet as seen here."
This work is untitled: the title has been supplied by the cataloguer.
