Description

The 1st of a 6-part series in which Dr. Alice Roberts, doctor and anatomist, explores the workings of the human body. This part looks at the kidneys, assesses how they function and how we can take care of them in our everyday lives. 45-year-old June Ingles has gone into kidney failure as a complication of her diabetes, she is having full time dialysis but her sister Lorraine has stepped forward to be a living donor. Surgeon John Forsythe talks us through the operation which is shown in detail.
