Lettering
The interior of Snow Hill Buildings in 1885. Designed by Henry Wellcome ...
Lettering continues: "These premises were acquired in 1883 and remained the headquarters of the Firm until they were destroyed by bombing in the 1939-1945 War. The interior was designed by Wellcome with the aid of the best craftsmen available. In December he wrote to his partner saying Ì am arranging to introduce the Edison Electric Light into our new building'. It was not until 1880 that Edison had made electric lighting commercially possible. The new building was occupied at the beginning of 1884, and it is clear from published comment that the achievement of the young firm caused some astonishment"
