    The appointment of an Almoner has in the opinion of the Board been amply justified. The after care of patients when they leave the Wards is a very desirable, and indeed necessary, branch of the work of a Hospital in completing their cure and in preventing an otherwise frequent return. Miss Weaver has been most successful in procuring admissions to Convalescent Homes and the provision of necessary surgical appliances at practically no cost to the Hospital funds ; also, from her acquaintance with the circumstances of each patient, she has been of great assistance to the Board in advising what contributions to their weekly cost they may fairly be asked to pay. The Board tender their grateful thanks to the Honorary Medical and Surgical Staff, the Honorary Ophthalmic Surgeon and the Honorary Dentist, for their valuable gratuitous services and for the assistance they have always given in every matter affecting the welfare of the Hospital. The Board wish to express their sincere gratitude to Subscribers and Donors fot the continued support they have received and which in most directions has been increased. STATISTICS.
