![Weiditz, Woensam, Schaufelein, besides many others whose work is of importance (as Clofigl, Coecke, Kulmbach), but of less extent. Of these illustrators there is a special Index, and the information concerning them is abreast of current works on the subject. Several items are unique or unrecorded, as ‘Melusina’ [Strassb. (?), Knoblochtzer, c. 1478], differing from that already known; two leaves of Rubrics for the thirty-six- line Bible (Gutenberg or Pfister); Lichtenberger, ‘Con- junctio Saturni et Martis,’? anno 1473 [unknown press] (in this book the authot’s true surname, hitherto un- known, is revealed for the first time), besides many other smaller items of especial interest, as Ratdolt’s woodcut wrappers, dated 1494, for his Lehenrecht of 1493; a Schoeffer advertisement; some single xylographic cuts, etc. The descriptions are ample and full of information, much of it being new; the collations are full, and five indexes are found at end.
