Description
Formerly regarded as a portrait of Christopher Columbus, though not recorded by Ponce de León, op. cit. Identified as Galileo by Dr Federico Tognoni, 2008, and as a pair with a portrait of Columbus: a set of casts of the two sculptures was offered for sale at Sotheby's Olympia on 28 September 2005, lot 229
