Notes

The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "A very interesting group on a real photo postcard printed by the renowned Liverpool firm of 'Carbonara'. The cap tally on the only man in uniform in this group names the Royal Naval Division, which was disbanded in 1919. However, I believe the superb drag being worn by the figure lower right is slightly later than this, circa 1922. This sitter is (or should have been) a professional performer, very beautifully dressed and made-up, and quite convincing as a woman."
This work is untitled: the title has been supplied by the cataloguer.
