Description

Histopathology of the liver This image shows a medium power microscopic view of a section of liver from a patient with falciparum malaria. The Kupffer cells in the sinusoids are prominent and contain brown haemozoin. There is also a mild portal and sinusoidal lymphocytic infiltrate. The hepatocytes are not damaged. H&E stain.
