Fluorescent micrograph showing a synaptic connection in the cerebellar cortex of a rat brain. The cerebellum is the region towards the back of the brain that is important for motor control. This image shows the axon of an interneuron stained with lucifer yellow (yellow) making synaptic contact with dendrites of a post synaptic purkinje cell(specialised neurons found in the cerebullum) stained with texas red (red).
