Description

Parsons introduces the principles of training for childbirth. Record 1, Side 1 has two bands with the following titles: Band One. 1. Pain and the association of ideas, 2. Causes of Fear, 3. Effects of fear, 4. Right and wrong attitudes toward childbirth, The value of knowledge and understanding. Band Two: 1. Messages from the mind to the muscles, 2. Telling the muscles 'to let go', 3. An exercise in muscular relaxation, 4. Release from tension, 5. Confidence will come with daily practice. Record 1 Side 2 has three bands. Band One; Progressive exercises in breathing, Band two; 1. Anatomy and physiology, 2. Conception and development of the baby during pregnancy, 3. Muscular action of the uterus during labour. Band three; Becoming a relaxed person will help during labour. Record 2, Side 3; 1. Labour - the 1st stage, 2. Three ways labour may start, 3. What to do during labour, 4. How to breathe and relax during contractions. Record 2, Side 4, Band One; 1. Labour - the end of the 1st stage; 2. The 2nd and the 3rd stages; 3. The birth of the baby and the delivery of the placenta. 4. Breathing during these stages, 5. Deciding when to go to hospital. Band Two; Summary, recapitulation and conclusion.
