Description

Found guilty and received sentence of death at the Old Bailey on 10 May 1736 for stealing a large parcel of linen at Islington, but escaped from Newgate prison twice, once over the roofs and once through the sewers. Worked as a groom or jockey, was recaptured and hanged at Tyburn on 2 or 3 November 1736. Portrayed in prison wearing a jockey cap
