Description

He is kneeling, directed to front, turning his face upwards to right. In the background, four other hermits are shown in the Chartreuse mountains. Right, a dog. De Montaiglon (op. cit. p. 56) passes on the tradition that the saint is a portrait by Mellan of Christophe Du Puy, a Carthusian and prior of the Charterhouse in Rome
