    PREFACE. The author does not for a moment delude himself with the idea that this little work will supply a “ long- felt want.” The chief reason for writing it is to record certain opinions which the author holds upon the causes and effective treatment of hay-fever. These opinions, although not exactly in accordance with those generally current in this country, he is convinced, irom a considerable experience, are substan- tially correct. This little work, which does not pretend to be an exhaustive treatise, of necessity deals with the subject in a more or less sketchy manner.
