PROVISIONAL SPECIFICATION left by William Jarvis at the Office of the Commissioners of Patents, with his Petition, on the 9th October 1868. I, William Jahvis, of New Brighton, in the County of Chester, b Pharmaceutical Chemist, do hereby declare the nature of the said Invention for “ Improved Label Attachments for Poison Bottles and Bottles CONTAINING DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES,’’ to bc aS folloWS :- The object of my Invention is to prevent bottles containing poison or othei? dangerous substances from being mistaken, as well in the lO dark as during light, for other bottles; in other words, to reduce the chances of accidental poisoning, or damage from explosion or ignition of dangerous compounds or substances, to a minimum. Por this purpose I employ a label attachment for each bottle, that is to say, a label, the usual caution being printed or marked on its surface, 15 which can be easily and quickly attached to bottles of all kinds. The said label attachment is so formed, and this is one of its distinguishing features, that when in position over the neck or other part of a bottle it projects beyond the circumference or sides a considerable distance.
