About this work

Description

The first of the Decennial Contemporary Clubs of St Bartholomew's Hospital was founded in 1832. Its members had all been students of John Abernethy between 1820 and 1830. Similar clubs were formed at intervals thereafter, by former students who had been contemporaries within a period of ten years, and who wished to maintain contact with St Bartholomew's.
